Greetings,Your support has made a tremendous difference in the lives of poor children!
For most children when schools are out they are enjoying summer vacations, visiting family, going away for camps, making new friends and all that summer offers; but summer is not so exciting for all children . . .
For some kids, no school means no breakfast and no lunch. During the school year, these meals are provided at no charge to poor children. In our community 79% of the children live in poverty and in the summer these families are presented with an immense daily challenge just to feed their children. This coupled with no adult presence and nothing constructive to do - is a recipe for trouble.
Because of your support we have been able to reach the half way point of our summer program. We are so happy to report that on Friday, July 24 Operation Blessing has just given us a grant of $15,000.00, we need to match this in order to close our summer camp as planned and successfully move into our after school program.

Helping The Poor |
Summer is normally the hungriest time of year for poor children and their families.
However, your generosity has allowed us to reverse this statistic in our community, were 79% of our children live below poverty. With your support we are serving more than 135 breakfasts and lunches each day this summer. We have 107 Elementary summer students; seven middle school students; 15 Junior High Students working as coaches; and 10 Senior High and College Students working as Student Leaders.
Our full-time missionary staff and AMERICORP/VISTA personnel combined with two cooks, six full-time social workers and 25 trained student leaders (from our community) and multiple inbound mission teams from throughout the Commonwealth and across the United States allow us to bring a dynamic program to this poor community. The children that we serve might otherwise go hungry and be neglected if it were not for your support.
Not only have we fed these precious children, we have given them daylong life enrichment programs equal to those of a middle class community:

With your donation and our resources, we can continue these programs for the nation's poorest children through the summer and with our afterschool programs; keep their hope alive for a better future as we demonstrate God's plan for these children "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Because of your generous support, we have been able to pass the halfway point of our intensive summer program. We are not only serving these overlooked children; but also helping their families with food security and job referral. By using student leaders we are providing at-risk youth with necessary skills to prepare them for further education/career opportunities that they would not have without our program.
I am asking you to give a very special contribution to help us match Operation Blessing's grant of $15,000.00 to finish this year's summer program with the same success that we have made it to the half way point and help us prepare to enter our after school program (by clicking the donations link).
